If you’re like most driven people, motivation is not a problem. In fact, you’re probably the person who motivates others. You have cultivated that ability through experience – by motivating yourself.
My experience lead me to believe that I had to look only within for motivation. All the motivation I needed was already within me. And to a certain extent, that is true.
But there comes a time in all of our lives that we need to be motivated by external forces – be they other people, videos, music, nature, etc… The type-A, driven person might be tempted to see that as a sign of weakness. I urge them to think twice.
Case in point, Parvis Firouzgar. He is a successful serial entrepreneur and 2x Amazon best-selling author. In his book “20/20 Hindsight”, he dedicates an entire chapter to the importance of motivation.
He is a proponent of daily consumption of motivational material. In his words,“motivation is like food and water. You need to replenish it on a daily basis.” You need to take in motivational material – audio courses, videos, books, etc.. – every single day. Keep your momentum going.
You can bet that I highlighted those lines and started applying them. There is such a wealth of motivational material out there. Start consuming!
